Can you imagine your beautiful outdoor space?

A patio is a wonderful area for relaxing and doing other family activities such as cooking outdoors and celebrating good family times.

To make sure it will serve its important functions, it should be designed and built with the best materials available. At S&V Landscaping, we recommend the use of pavers. They are superior in terms of appearance, durability and value for money. That is why our company trusts these materials.

However, we are not your regular supplier or installer of pavers in Maryland. Our team is expert when it comes to pavers, whether it’s supplying materials, unique installation of concrete paver patios, or creating stunning patio designs or any other Paver & Stone Works.

Paver & Stone Patios Design Tips

There are a few issues you should consider when designing and investing in your yard. Bringing your patio ideas into a design that not only complements your outdoor lifestyle, but also fits nicely into your budget, is possible if you follow a few basic steps. Designing a custom paver patio can seem tricky and challenging at first.

BUDGET

The budget for your patio is most likely the most important element of your design project and is most likely the most difficult for a homeowner to determine. Budgeting an outdoor living project puts it in perspective, provides the designer with a point of reference, and helps prevent any unforeseen expenses.

Knowing the expense of a paver patio and any other suggested upgrades or accessories, such as retaining walls for seating, an outdoor fireplace, or even a grilling station, can help you build a budget. Fortunately for you, pavers are a great cost-effective way to organize your patio.

HOW DO YOU PLAN TO USE YOUR PATIO?

How do you plan to use your patio? Do you like to host large parties? Do you have a large family? Do you enjoy barbecues and outdoor dining? It’s important to consider all of these questions and more when shaping your patio. Additional elements such as fire pits, grills, outdoor bars and furniture impact the way you are going to design your patio.

Along with this, it is important to consider how you are going to move around your patio every day. For example, if you like to grill, you should position the grill area so that it’s easy for you to get your steaks out of the kitchen. Design your patio with functionality in mind first, and aesthetics will follow.

WHAT STYLE DO YOU WANT FOR THE PATIO?

What style do I want for my patio? This is probably the feature you spend the most time on because it’s the one you love the most. A competent design will incorporate your concepts or extras into an aesthetically beautiful geometry that enhances the architectural style of the home. Brick or concrete pavers offer the most design versatility, so feel free to play with designs, sizes and styles that suit your home’s aesthetic and style.

PAVER WALKWAYS

From luxurious pavers to rustic natural stone, brick pavers and more, a walkway is a versatile landscape element. A walkway physically and visually connects the focal points of your landscape to draw visitors to your yard.

Natural Stone VS Paver Stone

First, we want to make it clear that the word “stone” is sometimes used, even when used to talk about pavers, which are not actually real stone. There is definitely a difference between these two patio materials, which we want to help to clarify.

To be clear, when talking about pavers, we’re talking about made-by-man, interlocking hardscaped pieces that are typically made from a concrete mix and come in a variety of shapes and colors.

When talking about natural stone, we’re talking about stone that occurs naturally in the environment and is cut into pieces in order to be used for hardscaping projects.

Both patio materials are durable, although it’s fair to say that natural stone is the more durable option. After all, it has survived in nature for thousands of years!

While the surface material of pavers can wear down over time, and begin to expose aggregate (small rocks and pebbles that make up the structural filler in concrete, acting as a binding agent), natural stone will outlast the weather in your home (indefinitely). However, natural stone works are more expensive due to the price of the material.
